Earlier This Afternoon, I Saw a Message on My Instagram. It was from my previous colleague, asking how I was and telling me she had a favor to ask. We talked for a while about the new website I built, and she mentioned that she remembered some of the stories I wrote. But there was one thing she said that stayed with me.
She told me she was looking for a direction.
Looking for a Direction Is Really Hard.
There are always things to consider. You ask yourself if this is what you truly want, or if the direction you are choosing is something you think is right only because it makes sense or earns money, but not because it comes from the heart.
While she was talking, I realized I am also looking for a direction. I am also searching for a purpose. Sometimes I even wonder what my talents are because I love finding things that can make me better. I love learning, but not everything I learn gives me joy. Some things feel heavy, and they lead to burnout because deep inside, I do not really love them.
And then there are those quiet thoughts you keep inside. The small dreams you do not say out loud.
- Maybe you want to try a new career.
- Maybe you want to pursue your studies.
- Maybe you want to finally use the degree you finished.
- Maybe you want to start something you have been thinking about for a long time.
But uncertainty stops you. You feel scared of failing, scared of wasting time, scared of choosing wrong.
But You Just Need to Take a Risk.
I created this website feeling uncertain. I felt like no one might view it or relate to the things I wrote. I still created it. It became something personal, something I can use as a portfolio in the future. I do not know where this uncertainty will bring me, but I am learning to trust it. I am learning to believe that small risks can guide us toward something better.
I Also Know That It Is Really Hard for Many of Us to Excel. Especially when we do not have the same resources that other countries or other people have. Most of the time, we need to start from scratch. We need to build everything from the ground.
Unless someone was born with inherited money, big family names, or instant connections, their journey is not the same as ours. And that is okay.
I hope people who are reading this remember that ideas, dreams, and success without resources will always be different. No matter how hard we work, our path will never look the same as the path of someone who already has everything prepared for them. And we should not compare ourselves to that.
