When the Glass Overflows, You Don't Need to Be a Writer

5 months ago, I felt like something was wrong. I couldn't think clearly. I could not focus on the tasks I wanted to do. I was also having a hard time doing what I love, and every time I worked, it scared me.
So, what I was doing was always overthinking. I worried about how I would do the things I love, not just going to the office every day and dealing with constant pressure, but also how do you go to an office with a gossip environment? It feels like every move you make is being watched.
It's normal, yes, but I couldn't take it. I felt like my brain would explode anytime soon, so what I did was write!
I needed to manage my emotions because, during that time, I was leading a team. You can't lead a team if you feel like you can no longer handle the responsibility or motivate them. That is why I needed to write. I needed to watch my emotions so that if I ever felt a trigger, I could just go back to my journal, see how I managed it, and move forward day by day.
You see, information and thoughts are like an overflowing glass of water. Sometimes you will feel, or sometimes we think, "Am I saying things that don't make sense?" It's just our mind carrying too much at the same time. Our thoughts get wasted because we don't have the chance to understand them.
But if you write something, maybe posting on social media, writing a journal, a diary, a note, or writing using your hands with a pen, it helps you feel lighter. What used to feel heavy becomes lighter. You might think that you need to be a certified storyteller or an author. No, it's not true. You don't need to be qualified to write. You don't need to sound deep or be perfect.
You Just Need to Be You
There are so many benefits you can get from writing down your thoughts and information:
- It gives you clarity.
- It helps organize your mind.
- It helps you not to overthink.
- It helps you understand what you feel.
So breathe, take it in, and move with a clearer mind.
